The short version
Sift Filter collects no data. Nothing you type into the app and no message you receive ever leaves your iPhone.
What Sift does with your messages
When a text arrives from a sender who isn't in your contacts, iOS hands its text to Sift's message filter on your iPhone. Sift compares it against the filters you created and tells iOS whether to file it under Junk, Promotions or Transactions, or leave it in your inbox. The message is not stored, logged or copied anywhere.
iOS never gives Sift iMessages or messages from your contacts.
What Sift stores
Your filters and settings are stored only on your iPhone, in the app's own storage. They are removed when you delete the app.
What Sift does not do
- No network access. The message filter has no internet connection and Sift has no servers.
- No accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or third-party SDKs.
- No sharing or selling of any data, because none is collected.
Sharing filters
If you choose to share filters, Sift creates a link containing only those filters' settings and hands it to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes from there is up to you.
Children
Sift collects no data from anyone, including children.
